For anyone who wants to see past the framework and into the actual toolkit.

SEE IT, STEER IT, KEEP IT is not a slide with three arrows on it. It’s built on four pieces of working tooling, each developed and refined inside real client engagements before it ever reached a client-facing page. This is what’s actually inside them.

The Capability Method — the framework itself

This is where the method starts: a working definition of what a capability actually is — the organisational ability to achieve a desired outcome — broken into three components that have to work together: Platforms & Tools, Business Processes, and People & Competencies — the skills, culture and organisation that carry it.

What’s inside:

  • The three-component model, and how Business capabilities (what a company sells) differ from Enabling capabilities (what makes selling it possible)
  • SEE IT / STEER IT / KEEP IT — how a capability is checked, adjusted, and made to hold, rather than assumed to be fine
  • Mintzberg’s coordination mechanisms, applied to how work actually gets coordinated once a capability spans more than one team
  • The proof behind the method: capabilities checked, not asserted, and an honest account of where AI genuinely strengthens the analysis versus where it’s a generic assist

This is the piece everything else on the site already draws from — the What Is a Capability and Capability Method sections on the homepage are built directly out of it.

The Capability Heatmap — 11 Domains

If TCM is the definition, this is the measurement. A structured heatmap covering 165 capabilities across 11 domains — deliberately generic and product-level throughout, so it scores a capability on its own terms rather than against one company’s internal politics.

What’s inside:

  • A full capability inventory, scored domain by domain
  • A heatmap view (by capability, and a rolled-up summary) showing where an organisation is strong, where it’s exposed, and where nobody has actually looked recently
  • A capability unit blueprint — the template a single capability gets assessed against
  • An operating loop summary connecting the scoring back to how the capability is actually run day to day

This is the tool that turns “we think we’re fine” into a number someone can act on.

Master Data Capability Units

This is the method applied in depth to one domain: master data — chosen because it’s foundational to almost everything else an organisation does, and it’s one of the domains most often managed informally, by habit rather than by design.

What’s inside:

  • The same three components — Platforms & Tools, Business Processes, People & Competencies — worked all the way down into concrete capability units for master data specifically
  • What “good” looks like at each level, from ungoverned to fully owned and monitored
  • Built and pressure-tested inside a real client’s master-data organisation, then generalised so the same structure applies wherever master data governance needs to mature

This is the clearest example of what SEE IT and STEER IT actually look like once you stop talking about a domain in the abstract and start scoring it.

What We Deliver

The first three pieces are what gets assessed and understood. This is how an engagement is actually run once that’s done — the same three-step delivery model behind the packages on this site: assess and baseline (Insight), pilot (Business Case), then recommend and scale (Value Realisation) — with an optional Harvest after go-live.

What’s inside:

  • A structured, reusable delivery framework with placeholders built in — it’s designed from the start to be adapted to a specific client and domain, not rewritten from scratch each time
  • What happens at each stage, what a client should expect to see, and what “done” looks like before moving to the next stage
  • The direct link between an assessment (via the Heatmap) and a concrete pilot, so recommendations are never disconnected from what was actually measured

This is the piece that makes the method repeatable rather than a one-off exercise.

TCM defines what a capability is and how it’s checked. The Heatmap measures it across 11 domains. Master Data Capability Units show the method worked all the way down into one real domain. What We Deliver is how all of it gets delivered as an actual engagement — four packages, each ending in a decision. The Business Case Method shows what it is worth, in the CFO’s language. Together, they’re the toolkit behind Business Case, Digital Transformation, and Change Management Consulting — not a separate offering, but the working parts of the same method.
