SEE IT isn’t expected to score the same in every domain. Here’s the honest picture: how much of each domain’s own capabilities are actually governance work — the kind SEE IT tracks — versus operational work that just uses the data.
The Numbers, by Domain and Component
| Domain | Business Processes | Platforms & Tools | People & Competencies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customer | 60% | 40% | 20% |
| Vendor | 60% | 40% | 20% |
| Material | 60% | 40% | 20% |
| Finance | 60% | 40% | 20% |
| HR / Workforce | 80% | 40% | 20% |
| Asset | 40% | 20% | 20% |
| Supply Chain | 40% | 40% | 20% |
| Project | 40% | 40% | 20% |
| Quality & Compliance | 60% | 40% | 20% |
| Governance & Enterprise Structure | 60% | 80% | 20% |
| AI, Analytics & KPI | 60% | 40% | 20% |
What the Pattern Shows
- Customer, Vendor, Material and Finance converge exactly at 60%/40% — not four separate judgment calls, but one consequence of all four sharing the same underlying platform mechanics, just applied to different objects.
- HR/Workforce has the strongest Business Processes governance of any domain (80%) — a real reflection of how tightly employee master data validation tends to be enforced.
- Governance & Enterprise Structure has the strongest Platforms & Tools governance (80%) — its tooling is built around change and release control.
- Asset is the lowest-governance domain overall (40%/20%) — genuinely operational, execution-heavy, with comparatively little native governance tooling behind it.
- People & Competencies scores a flat 20% everywhere — by construction, since the same five competence-area names apply identically across every domain; this component isn’t a product feature, so it doesn’t vary the way the other two do.
Why We Show the Low Number Too
A method that only publishes its best domain isn’t proof — it’s marketing. Asset scoring lower isn’t a flaw in the method; it’s the method doing exactly what SEE IT is for: telling you honestly where a domain actually stands, not what would look best in a case study.
The Benefits Catalog Connection
Each domain’s 15 capabilities feed a Business Case’s Benefits Catalog directly — but not by component alone. SEE IT, STEER IT and KEEP IT are independent flags on each capability (Readiness Score Tracked, AI Housekeeping Candidate, Certified Competence Required), and a single capability can carry two or three of them at once — AI Platform Services, for instance, is flagged for all three. The %-governance figures above describe each component’s overall weight, not a strict one-line-per-element assignment. See Business Case for how the catalog attributes value by flag, not by component.
